Russia to start grain interventions from August 11

Russia’s Agriculture Ministry will start grain interventions from August 11, it said in a statement on Tuesday.

The ministry buys grain on the domestic market from time to time to replenish government stocks. Russia plans to add 2 million tonnes of grain to its intervention fund in the 2015–16 agricultural year, RIA news agency reported on Monday.
