Information about the RTC Group of Companies
The RTC Group of Companies is a multi-service rail freighting holding company — the leader in bulk and timber shipping, and the owner of its own wagon-building facilities. The overall RTC wagon fleet numbers more than 44,500 items of rolling stock, including hoppers, gondolas, flat-bed timber haulage wagons, and foodstuff tanks. The company is numbered among the Top Five independent Russian rail-freight operators, rated by the inventory of rolling-stock it holds on its books, and under leasing agreements. The company commenced its unified operations under the single Holding management in 2011.
In March 2011 the Group took control over Rusagrotrans CJSC in an acquisition through a privately-made offer for an additional issues of shares in Rusagrotrans CJSC, as a result of which the shareholding of the Group rose from 49% to 54.3%.
On 28th December the Russian Federal Anti-Monopoly Service gave its permission for RTC Rail Transports Company Ltd to acquire a 100% holding in the interests of Rustranscom LLC, with the result that in 2012 the investment corporation RTC Rail Transports Company Ltd (Cyprus) took a 100% holding in the share capital of RusTransCom LLC, and began to form a Holding Company engaged in rail freighting.
In December 2012 the Holding acquired 45.7% of the shares of RusAgroTrans CJSC from Pervaya Gruzovaya Companiya («First Freighting Corporation») JSC for a total of 4120 million roubles ($135,881 million US dollars at date of transaction). This transaction led to the Holding’s share in RusAgroTrans CJSC rising to 100%.
